Dear Parents and Guardians

On behalf of the wonderful and dedicated staff of Jefferson Elementary School, I am happy to welcome you to a brand new school year! We are looking forward to a productive and positive partnership with you to ensure all students achieve at the highest level. Our shared commitment is to ensure that your child gains the academic and social skills to succeed towards their pathway to college and career readiness. Our continuous goal is to provide your child a safe and effective environment for each child to thrive, provide rigorous instructions, and ensure your child develops 21st Century Skills that are needed in today’s global society. With your ongoing support and involvement towards your child’s academics, we know that we will have a successful school year.

We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

My goal is to ensure our staff and I communicate many important opportunities for you to hear and support our school goals and plan of improvement. Please ensure to read the communication or information that your child brings home. I will continuously make outgoing calls so that you will also be informed of special announcements and events.

The Jefferson staff and I are looking forward in supporting the community at Jefferson Elementary School. I believe that all students can learn. In addition, it is important for all of us to build a positive environment and model the proper conduct and behavior in and out of school campus for our students. In today’s society, there is so much excitement for our students to grow into many career fields especially in the area of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math which is also known as STEAM! In addition, we embraced the opportunity to cultivate each child to be leaders especially in their own community. College begins now at Jefferson Elementary School! We will work collaboratively to ensure each child meets or surpasses their academic goals.

Please consider joining our school volunteer program and activities as our students can greatly benefit from
your involvement and contributions to the school’s program and its operations. We seek parent or community
volunteers to help us with the following activities:

1) Teacher-led instructional support, usually in the classroom
2) Reading with children who need extra help
3) School-wide events and activities
4) Student recognition events
5) Outreach and recruitment of parent and community volunteers

If you have any questions about the rules and expectations, please feel free to contact me or discuss them with
your child’s teacher. Your child’s teacher is your primary communication support regarding your child’s
performance and needs. It is very important that you and your child are fully informed regarding the standards
related to school goals, expectations, and appropriate behavior for a safe and productive school year.

The magnificent Jefferson staff and I feel privileged to serve our community especially your child(ren). We
thank you for your support, enthusiasm, and look forward to meeting you for a successful school year.

Sincerely,

Mr. Sal Aquino
